Patty and Prince were showing at the recognized show in Stillwater on Saturday so no party lesson was possible. Mallory, Nancy and I plotted a trip to see them show, have lunch followed by a visit to Pico. Alas, Nancy was not able to join us but Pat met us at the show to hang out for a while in the rain. The outdoor warm up arena had standing water so Patty didn’t warm up much. Their first test scored a 70! Imagine how high the score could have been with a little warm-up. While at the show, we saw several friends including Marilyn and Beth. Marilyn has taken a working student position with Robin and also has a vet tech side job. We will miss seeing her in Claremore but she will be getting great experience.
After hanging out at the show, we stopped at Bad Brad’s for some yummy BBQ on the way to Pat and John’s horse heaven. Bob, Pico and Bert were happy to snack on peppermint horse treats and Pico showed some possessiveness over Ivy that was pretty cute. Poor Bob was a bit put out while Ivy lavished attention on Pico.
Pat and John have a great antique shop and we browsed around looking for cool stuff to buy. I added to my corning ware collection and bought a couple of cool old metal chairs to paint in shades of pink to match my flamingos. Mallory found a neat pottery bowl. Pat refinishes cool old furniture, makes neat stools out of metal pans, refurbishes cabinets, telephone tables, and other mid-20th century treasures. Their shop is open by chance or appointment and you should check it out when you are in the area. Pico, Bob, and Bert like to keep tabs on Pat while she is working in case she needs to find someone to eat a peppermint.
The girls entered cake/bread, photos, and artwork in the Rogers County Free Fair and all three of us will be showing on Saturday at the horse show all day, so come on down to the Claremore Expo and visit. Sunday is the fun show and cloverbud show starting at noon and 2:30 respectively. A little cool front came through and the weekend should be lovely.
