No, not really. We had to miss the party lesson and spend 2 days blowing up a gazillion balloons at the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Regional Championships. We did get to see Tammy, Abby and Collin Esau have some great runs…. Number of balloons blown up and set? 3,440
No wonder I needed a nap Sunday afternoon.
The shoot was held at the Tulsa RV Ranch and was part of their Heritage Days activities. Cody Gregory, son of Chris Gregory (author of Gregory’s Textbook of Farriery), obtained his AFA CJF at the age of 15, and is a well-known competitor, instructor and clinician as well. Cody was demonstrating forging skills at the event and he made 3 horse hooks for the Horse Club (for the scholarship auction at the year end banquet). Cody, along with his Dad, Mom, and wife, run Heartland Horseshoeing School, in Lamar, Missouri, U.S.A. http://www.heartlandhorseshoeing.com/ Watching the process Cody uses to make art from glowing red-hot metal is fascinating.
Here’s hoping for a YaYa ride at Rita’s on Thursday and a Party Lesson on Saturday.
