The annual banquet for the Rogers County 4-H was held on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. Not enough time to go for a trail ride but enough time to play in the Wild O Ranch arena. Freshly disked and very fluffy. Splash was pretty sure the footing was way to deep for him. So we worked on some trail obstacles. Kizzy can graze across the water box – no need to actually step into it.
Ivy and Alaina prepared county 4-H record books for 2013 activities with their horse project and both were awarded Gold Metals for their work. Ivy also won the county horse award. Next year they might try the state record books.
Splash has not completely recovered from his tooth infection so after calling around, Dr. Prop was able to fit him in to the schedule early Tuesday morning. The problem? The dreaded Fox Tail fluff in the hay. While we were there and drugs were effective, we floated teeth and cleaned the sheath. Poor Splash. Now we have a mouth wash regimen with dilute novasan.
