Losing that hour is so hard on me even though it means daylight lasts an hour longer in the evening. Daylight savings time also brought a break in the cold temperature (temporarily) and, after a chilly start on Sunday, we had a lovely day in the lower 60’s for our March 4-H Point show.
Alaina and Sunny had beautiful rides in English (1st and 1st in Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Eq) and Ivy won Hunter Hack on Kismet and they placed 4th in Halter Geldings. But Kismet was a bit difficult spooking in the corner, tossing his head, charging, and even rearing a couple of times.
I know, Inquiring Minds want to know…. Did we have a party lesson on Saturday? Well….. The temperatures were forecast to be 38 (almost 40!) but rain was expected and it was going to FEEL like 31 degrees. We skipped our lesson and went to lunch at the Pink House instead. Sunday was Nancy E’s birthday so we celebrated a day early and the horses lounged in the barn with hay while the cold rain fell all afternoon. So, spring forward and spring starting in the yard. And, the first dressage schooling show at Claremore Expo on Saturday. Show season springs forward too.
