The weather outside is Frightful! High today of 23 degrees today with thunder-sleet, snow, hail with wind chills below freezing. Low tonight will get to 3 degrees / wind chill to – 20. Yikkes. The ponies are snug in their stalls with their heavy winter blankets on. Winter storm Titan is in like a Lion.
Splash got a break this weekend because the girls went to a clinic at the Tulsa fairgrounds on Saturday – so no party lesson for me. I did get some fun when Nancy came by the fairgrounds to pick Mallory and me up to go to Talley’s where we met Patty and Angie for a little lunch with our horsey friends. The clinic was presented by the Tulsa County 4-H club and focused on trail obstacles, horsemanship and showmanship. They provided lunch for the girls and had some fun classes so they could play and meet new friends with horses. Ivy met a couple of girls from Tulsa county who want to come show with us at our next 4-H point show. Kynsey is a speed girl who might enjoy jumping her barrel horse. Hmmm. Kizzy better watch out.
Sunny was the bomb on the trail obstacles. There was a “bridge” made of a couple of long boards nailed to about 3 short boards. Very long, narrow, unstable bridge. Sunny would trot right over, Kizzy wasn’t having it.
Hopefully, we can party lesson next weekend. The girls have a point show on Sunday, so no trail ride for me. A YaYa trial ride with my Sista’s is long overdue.
