Old Man Winter

DSCN5934DSCN5921I am not a winter kind of girl – Florida in my  formative years caused that.  But here I am in OK and it feels like the North Pole (might be warmer there since all the polar freeze moved down here).

The serious ice and sleet of this big winter blast went south of us but we still got 5 or so inches of snow at the Wild O Ranch.  It was preceded by a little sleet, which Kismet did not care for one little bit.  He blasted around acting like he could outrun those pesky ice pellets.  I ventured into the shed and dug out all the blankets and Steve helped me bundled up the horses.

DSCN5904IMG_8879Velcro has his own serious coat and Zebra is hiding out her short hair self (hopefully in a warm spot).  Jet dragged all his hay out of the doghouse and is laying around like he is sunbathing.  The kittens are trapped in the greenhouse and the chickens are hanging out by Splash’s stall.

DSCN5931With rural roads not great for driving, the 4-H banquet scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed.  So, now I am free to lunch with my party lesson pals.  Always look for that silver lining.  Yaya.
