With the temperature cool-down, Rita invited the YaYa’s to ride on Wednesday evening (4th Eve) – it was a lovely ride and Rita let me ride Winston. W was a very good boy although Latte gave Marsha a bit of trouble when asked to lead the way into the deep, dark forest. Navajo followed Judy’s instructions and Wiz was mostly good. The woods were nice and cool and Rita’s hay was ready to cut.
But, the cooler weather that started last weekend was over by the weekend. The fourth was warm but not hot and we had a lovely time in Nowata with all the wilder Orbans, et al, hanging out, eating, talking and setting off fireworks. Ivy and Alaina are true Orban’s, completely happy joining in on the pyromania that runs rampant in Nowata on the 4th.
After the party lesson on Saturday morning, the LAL was on at the Pink House to enjoy my birthday week. We dilly-dallied over lunch and snarfed delicious deserts even thought we didn’t NEED any. It could be that the butterscotch desert is so good that an intervention may be needed.
Finally, a non-horsey activity on Sunday afternoon. The girls and I went to Outback Farm east of Pryor for U-Pick blueberries. Pretty pricy but … ’tis tasty.
