TC’s Irish Roots

It’s St. Patrick’s Day Weekend and the GCC/ODS is holding the 2-day March Madness show.  The girls and I are signed up for the MM-II on Sunday.  Ivy and I will ride one test each in Training Level and Western Basic level.  So on Friday we practiced a little Western.  Then on Saturday morning I took Splash to Cheval Lake to work a little more Western.  Mallory worked with Grace until she (Grace that is) pulled a shoe loose.  Roxy and Arty were doing one-rein stops at the walk/trot/canter.  Home again and, after a couple of hours in the pasture chillin’, we loaded up again and went to Expo to practice a little English.  Splash thinks two outings in one day are excessive.

Patty, Nancy, and Kathy were already at Expo working their horses.  Prince has a pulled muscle but was visiting the warmup arena for the experience.  Norman was very calm enjoying the day out with Nancy.  Kathy and I put Call and Splash though both Trainng level T-3 and WDBasic-4.  Both of these tests have serpentine but the western dressage has serpentine from Quarter Line to Quarter Line while the T-3 test has serpentine using half the arena to X.

The weather really warmed up this week. 80’s on Friday and 70’s on Saturday. But, a cold front moved in Sat. afternoon and the high will be in the 40’s on Sunday. Brrrrrrr. But we might get rain which would be very good. But I am hoping for no rain during our ride times tomorrow. The judge will be Sherry Guess and I will be scribing in the morning. Both of Alaina’s tests and both of mine are in the afternoon. Ivy has her T-1 in the morning and a western dressage test in the afternoon. Come on by and say hi.

Oh, and don’t forget to wear green.  TC wears his every day.
